Hercules vs Maui

We open on a Greek cliff overlooking the sea. Hercules, with Pegasus nearby, is training against a stone pillar. With one swift swing of his sword, the pillar gets split down the middle.

Herc: alright, let’s take a break.

As he sits down on a rock next to Pegasus, he hears a noise. The sound of a hawk. Herc looks and sees a giant hawk flying towards him. He readies his sword, but the hawk shifts into the form of a massive, tattooed man wielding a gigantic fish hook. Maui

Maui: please, please, hold your applause. Yes it is I, Maui.

Herc blinks

Herc: who?

Maui stops

Maui:…. Maui? Demigod of the wind and seas? Hero to all? Pulled down the sun? Invented coconuts? None of that ringing a bell?

herc shrugs

Maui looks down to his tattooed form

Maui: is this guy serious?

mini Maui gives a confused shrug

Herc: wait, did you say you’re a demigod? So am I! My father is Zeus, and I’m kinda famous around here for vanquished the titans.

Maui: wait, you’re a famous demigod hero too? Yeesh I feel less special all of a sudden. Say, wanna see which one of us is the better demigod? A little one on one brawl?

Herc: alright. You’re on!

Maui: alright then. It’s Maui time.

Maui swings up the blunt side of his hook, which connects with hercs chin, uppercutting his backwards. Herc gets up and pulls out his sword. He bends it and throws it like a boomerang. It nearly hits Maui, but at the last second he turns into a Sparrow, narrowly missing it

The sword flies back to herc, who straightens it back out and rushes towards Maui

herc swipes at Maui, who parries with his hook. Maui disarms Hercules and smacks him again with his hook

Maui: not so tough without a weapon, huh?

Herc: not quite

herc punches Maui in the gut, knocking the wind out of him.

Maui: (wheezing) you’ve got quite an arm.

Herc: thanks

herc goes for another punch, but Maui leaps back out of the way. The two trade several blows, ending with Maui hooking around hercs torso and throwing him into a pillar, causing it to fall over.

Maui: just face it, golden boy. At best, you’ll just be another tattoo on my back.

Herc: I wouldn’t be so sure

herc grabs the fallen pillar and swings it like a baseball bat, sending Maui flying up and over the edge of the cliff. Maui transforms into a giant hawk and steadies himself.

He Turns back toward Herc, but sees the pillar being thrown in his direction. As he curves to miss it, he looks back. Hercules, now on Pegasus, flies towards Maui, wielding his sword.

The two duel in the air for a bit, with Maui transforming to dodge all of Hercs attacks. Finally, as herc swings his sword, Maui turns into a fly to dodge it. This was Hercs chance. With all his might, herc clapped his hands around Maui.

Herc: gotcha!

there’s a noise and a slight stirring in hercs hand, before Maui bursts out in the firm of a whale. Herc is blown back to land, Pegasus is knocked out and begins falling to the ocean, and Maui turns back into a hawk, flying right at herc.

Maui swings his hook at Hercules, who catches it. They struggle for a moment, before herc grabs the hook with both hands and snaps it in two. Maui is sent flying back, landing with the handle of his hook still in his hand.

Herc: sorry pal, you just couldn’t go the distance.

herc kicks Maui, sending him crashing through a nearby outcropping of land and into the water. He surfaces, staying afloat on the remnants of a tree. Maui looks up to Hercules, who turns to leave

Maui: he’s right. He’s stronger than I am, and I don’t even have my hook anymore. I’m a nobody.

thats when Maui looks down. The mini-Maui on his tattoos is gesturing to all the amazing things he’s done. He held up the sky, dragged the sun, stole fire from the underworld. He’s not a nobody. He’s Maui, demigod of the wind and sea, hero to all. Then Maui notices something. The ocean waves are moving differently. Pulling him away from the land. Maui gets and idea.

Hercules is walking away when he hears something. A sound coming from the sea. He turns to see a tidal wave rushing towards him. Maui, standing triumphantly upon the floating tree, rides the wave toward the land. Herc smiles. Once last stand.

As the wave gets closer, Hercules rears back his fist. Maui leaps off the wave, grabbing the tree and swinging it like a club. Herc punches. A massive Shockwave is formed by the might of these two demigods clashing. The tree explodes, the wave is sent crashing toward the sea.

Maui and herc land and continue fighting hand to hand. This time, Maui is actually holding his own. Until herc catches his fist

Hercules: this has been the best fight ive ever had. Thank you.

Hercules punches Maui with all his might. Maui is sent spiraling out of the atmosphere and into space. Maui sees he’s heading towards a star, and with the last bit of his strength, he utters two words

Maui: You’re welcome.

Hercules watches as one of the stars on the fish hook constellation fizzles out, and walks home.
