Samson vs Achilles
The battle begins in a valley. Two armies are at war. The Israelites and the Greeks. The battle rages on. Inside this battle of ordinary soldiers, two men blessed with Divine power fight. Samson, the Judge who was gifted legendary Strength by God, and Achilles, who was given impenetrable skin by the River Styx.
Samson, armed with a club fashioned from an Asses jawbone, carves his way through the Greeks, while Achilles, wielding a spear, slays Israelites left and right. As they make their way through their enemies, they finally meet in battle.
Samson: I believe I’ve heard about you. The man who cannot be killed. I’ve come to test that.
Achilles: likewise, they say you were gifted divine strength. Some say you could even hurt me. Doubtful. Hit me with your best shot.
Samson swings his Jawbone club, striking Achilles in the face. Achilles doesn’t even flinch. Achilles attempts to stab Samson with his spear, but Samson grabs the Spear just below the head and holds it back effortlessly.
Achilles pulls his spear free and swings again, Samson parrys every strike with his club. After several attacks, Achilles goes for another stab, but Samson yanks the spear from his hands, snapping it in two.
Achilles: inner monolog Damn. I need to get rid of his weapon, even the playing field.
Samson attempts another Swing with his club, but Achilles Blocks with his arm. The force of the strike causes the Jawbone club to shatter.
Achilles: inner monolog Aha! Now that he has no weapon, I can easily wear him down with my bare hands!
Samson looks to the broken handle of his club, shrugs, and tosses it aside. He then delivers an uppercut to Achilles, sending him several feet into the air
The warriors trade several unarmed blows, with neither seeming to do anything to the other. Achilles is too tough to hurt, but he’s not strong enough to have any effect on Samson. Eventually, Samson is able to Overpower Achilles and force him against a large rock. He starts pummeling Achilles, to no real effect
Samson: Why Thwack Won’t Thwack You Thwack Die?
Samson stomps Achilles into the rock, which cracks from the impact. Achilles slowly gets back up, slightly annoyed
Achilles: Hey, I think I almost felt that.
Samson angrily grabs Achilles by the arm
Samson: let’s see if you feel THIS!
He hurls Achilles into the air with all his might. Achilles sails hundreds of feet straight up, and begins falling again. Achilles decides to use this as an opportunity to get a decent hit of Samson. Samson has come up with a plan he hopes will work
Achilles readies a strike, using the force he’ll get from falling, and punches at Samson, who meets his strike. A tremendous Shockwave bursts from the impact, throwing off Achilles’ equilibrium. Samson grabs the hand of his foe and slams him into the ground, before delivering a mighty stomp onto his face. Before Achilles has a chance to get up, Samson Picks up a huge Boulder and drops it on Achilles.
Samson, believing he’s won, begins walking away, before he hears the Boulder moving again
Achilles moves the Boulder off himself and stares down Samson, who charges at him.
Achilles: When will you get it through your thick skull? You can’t break me!
Samson pins Achilles against a nearby rock
Samson: I don’t have to.
He grips Achilles by the throat and starts squeezing. This time, it’s working. Achilles struggles against Samson, unable to breathe. He begins to fade from consciousness, when he grabs Samson by the hair and pulls, causing a few hairs to snap
Samson’s grip is lessened as he loses strength and Achilles is able to breathe again. Achilles headbutts Samson and pushes him back. Samson can’t find the strength to resist.
Samson: No! My power!
Achilles pummels Samson repeatedly for a few moments, before noticing the tip of his spear. It’s laying on the ground, several feet away, where Samson had thrown it. Achilles drops Samson and begins walking toward the spear. Samson sits up, and prays
Samson: Oh, Lord of Hosts, hear my prayer. My hubris was too great, and I lost your blessing. I pray that you give me back my strength, just this once, so that I may vanquish this enemy. If it be your will, I give my life in exchange. Amen.
Samson feels his strength return tenfold as Achilles picks up his spearhead. The two face each other down. This is it. The last stand. Both charge at each other. Achilles stabs forward with his spear, while Samson punches with all his might.
Achilles: Perish!
Samson: Feel my strength!
The Two collide, and Achilles is sent flying back several feet. He’s completely laid out. Achilles gets up and looks to Samson. He’s still standing, but he’s dead. The spear head was stabbed through his chest, and now, even in Death, he stands tall.
Achilles: I told you you couldn’t brea-OW!
Achilles feels his jaw. Its bruised, and one of his teeth has been knocked out. Samson may have lost, but he still hurt the invincible man. Achilles rises, and pays his respects, before leaving the battlefield. Humbled, and Alive
The End
